Yes GRIP is an all-encompassing, truly enterprise-wide framework. But, are we trying to boil the ocean?

The answer is, “it is just a puddle and not an ocean, as the vendors project it to be”. Many Senior Executives get into vendor-led thinking, and their prior experience with software implementation leads them to believe that it is difficult to implement a product like GRIP. If we take a step back from the vendor messages, and look at the business problem, it becomes clearer. Management Instrumentation and control is not a big issue at all, if handled in its entirety.

Of course, implementing GRIP involves a significant change management and adaptation within the organization. But within GRIP, “modules are designed to have different levels of rigor, which can be turned on at will” – just like different levels in a video game.

Based on our experience of implementing management controls within different organizations, we have come up with “standard offerings” which are bundles of business processes. These are called Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. In fact, when you buy and use GRIP, you will be at GRIP Level 1 or Level 2 or 3, depending upon the rigor that you have chosen to implement. This is a marked deviation from the norm. Normally when you buy “financial manager”, “resource manager”, “project planning engine” and other bits and pieces, each comes with its own level of rigor. Often times, much of the functionality is not turned on, or even the whole product ends up being shelf-ware.

GRIP offers a very significant differentiation in that, you can “pre-select” the levels of rigor within each business process, and you pay at the level you choose. Your license and Total Cost of Ownership is based not on modules, but on the level of rigor you choose.

For example, for customers that want different levels of rigor, GRIP offers a very quick implementation path, via one of three options given below.
