GRIP PLATFORM ARCHITECTURE

Completely WEB based Architecture –
With absolutely no client installs

GRIP Product Suite is implemented using server-side web components for browser access – and it allows the application to be instantaneously deployed and shared within your Intranet. All application logic is completely handled within the server so that the administrators can make changes and manage from a central location. There is no need to install any client-side desktop software, save any preferences or retrieve information.

Fully Java 2 Compliant Architecture – or .NET / SQL Server
Supports platform independence

GRIP is developed using Java 2 / J2EE / XML / JSP / Servlets technology and generates industry standard HTML. This approach enables OpenMetrik to be hardware platform and operating system independent, while it easily integrates and interoperates with your existing systems. Optionally, GRIP also comes with .NET and SQL Server architecture to support fully Microsoft compliant clients.

JDBC/XML/SOAP/SOX Open Architecture –
Instant Information Exchange and Data Integration

GRIP is fully JDBC/XML/SOAP/SOX/DOM compliant and it enables instant, unlimited exchange of data – Customers can transparently embed their web documents and publish data to any common business bus and brokerage middleware architecture. In addition, GRIP open DBMS can be accessed via reporting engines such as Crystal Reports / Business Objects, for data mining, analysis and reporting.

Interoperability with Enterprise-wide Business Systems –
LDAP/HR/Finance/Project Accounting

GRIP is designed to fit easily into existing enterprise software environments. GRIP interfaces with LDAP Employee Directory and HR systems to extract latest employee / resource detailed information and it links to Financial General Ledger/Project Accounting systems for ROI/planned/actual tracking automatic chargeback.

Metadata Driven Architecture –
User-definable Parameters to meet changing business needs

GRIP is built using flexible, user-configurable metadata architecture – with absolutely no programming required. Most importantly, as the business changes, as employees move and as cost centers merge/split or as strategies and business changes, changes are propagated automatically to minimize the administrative burden over time and to reduce the cost and complexity of system upgrades and downtime.

Modular, Multi-Portal Architecture –
“Pick-and-bundle” specific to Your Business Needs

GRIP Product Suite comprises as many as forty functionally independent modules – each supporting a specific management process. Customers may choose to implement any set of modules that addresses their immediate business challenge and build as they go. For example, a Customer may start on Strategic and Business Case/Project Request capture modules to automate their Budget Planning, while another Customer may elect to use the Dashboard, PMO and Project Reporting Portals to address their Program Management Governance.

Seamless, Exception-Based Collaboration –
User-definable, business-specific Events and Alerts

GRIP enables our Customers to define their business-specific significant Events, Alerts and Notifications based on information and data changes within the DBMS. Customers not only get alerted in their respective role-based dashboards, but such Notifications can be routed to other stakeholders and co-workers to enable seamless collaboration. GRIP serves as an effective conduit of communication throughout our Customers Enterprise.

Change Management and Ease of Implementation –
“Turn-On/Turn-Off” Functionality & Build as you Go

GRIP functional blocks are organized to operate independently of one another and each functional block has a number of features to support all business environments. Individual features and functionality within each block can be suppressed and turned on at will by the users, without having to any make programming changes.

Supports Single Sign-On –
Authentication and Key-Based Remote Access

GRIP supports hardware platform and single-login / password network authentication such as Pathways single-sign on and Key based remote access into a Corporate Intranet from anywhere.

Role Based Access –
“myGRIP.com” – user-specific consoles for Easy Navigation

GRIP hides the complexities of its functional blocks effectively by two mechanisms: role based access and a single point of entry, “myGRIP.com”. Access control lists are maintained specific to business cases / projects / cost centers and resources that need to view and update information relevant to their business role. There are five basic roles or classes of users: Senior Executive, Program Manager, Project Manager, Resource/Cost Center Manager and Timesheet Users. Every user gets a “user Console” or dashboard specific to their role – which gives status, frequently performed tasks, solicited and unsolicited alerts and notifications. Additional role based dashboards can also be assembled by leveraging the Java component building blocks of GRIP.
