DEMAND MANAGER

PRIORITIZE, OPTIMIZE AND STREAMLINE
YOUR DEMAND FUNNEL FOR EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY

What is your challenge as you see it?

”As an IT-Business liaison manager, when I come out of my meetings with my Business Partners, I need to capture, categorize, prioritize requests for IT service – be it a project or an operational small ticket item. Right now, I do not have a single repository for logging in all my requests. And based on the nature of the demand, I need to capture more information and grow new requests into full-fledged business cases and route them to different stakeholders for approval. Finally, I want to validate every new demand in light of existing workload, and view it all as a portfolio, before I approval and schedule them all.”

What solutions do you have today?

”Today, we use different mechanisms: for projects we have a requisition system, and for other changes, we have service ticketing system. We still collect all requests into spreadsheets, and we attach weights and ranking, which are static ways of analyzing data. We have two people responsible for manually capturing and grouping ideas, attaching weights and ranks and sorting them. I meet with them every week, and we make decisions. We then create monthly reports and present them to the Demand Management committee. The Committee then passes it on to the Resource Manager for getting the necessary resources and getting the work done. This is a manual intensive, laborious process that is not intuitive.”

What exactly do you need and why is it different?

Regardless of a project request or a small ticket item, you need a unified and streamlined approach to capturing IT demand. Regardless of the number of requests, you need a formulated approach to recognize demand, promote reuse of existing resources, and send it to different stakeholders, and finally send it to a portfolio analyzer for making approval/disapproval decisions. You then need to push the work for prioritization and scheduling among all other requests. You need an integrated IT Governance solution from OpenMetrik.

What does GRIP-IT Demand Manager do? (What are its features?)

GRIP-IT Demand Manager is an Intranet-based, ready-to-access, business role-sensitive solution that comes in handy to capture demand from Business Unit customers as well as internal requests. Depending on the nature of IT demand, more information gets collected, and the demand matures into a full-fledged IT request. IT demand gets routed through successive stages of approval, and an information workflow path that is very specific to that demand. GRIP-IT Demand Manager comes with a comprehensive yet powerful raking and prioritization mechanism for assigning risks vs. rewards, an ROI engine that allows you to compare what-if scenarios, such as in-sourced vs. outsourced. This information can be viewed in Portfolio Analyzer to conduct financial, resource, and make-buy due diligence before approving and committing to deliver per the demand.
